DB Design has now been engaged at the planning stage for a new golf course development in Poland.

DB design has been recently appointed to carry out a re-design proposal for the historic Waterford GC. Like many of our traditional parkland courses, Waterford has recognized that it is lagging behind with respect to specification, strategy and the battle against technology.

DB Design has just completed an upgrade to Callan G.C, Kilkenny. The club recognized a shortcoming in holes 3-6 and took the decision that it had to be addressed. The result is four re-designed holes that incorporate new greens, tees, fairway bunkers and water features. The management of the club has now asked DB Design to cast a critical eye over the rest of the layout.

As course architect for Limerick GC, DB Design is currently undergoing renovation work to tie in with the construction of the new clubhouse. This has involved a re-routing of the course and subsequent construction of a new 18th green, 1st and 10th tee complex.

As course architect for Seapoint G.C, Co. Louth, DB Design has been retained to carry out renovation work on holes, 9, 15, 16 and 17. The work ranges from new greens to tees and the construction of a new shortgame area.

St. Helens Bay GC, Co. Wexford has appointed DB Design to carry out a critical appraisal of their 27 hole facility. Originally designed by Ryder Cup star Phillip Walton in the early 90’s, the management has now seen the need to upgrade the course to offer a more strategic layout.

DB Design has been appointed as the golf course architect for the proposed new course at the Killashee House Hotel, Naas, Co. Kildare. The project is currently in the planning process and a decision is expected within the coming months.

Ronan Branigan has been recently appointed as an associate member of The European Institute of Golf Course Architects. Previously a graduate member, Ronan successfully completed the exam that was held in Paris, to upgrade his membership. As an associate member of the EIGCA, Ronan operates under their guidance and can bring that assurance to all projects.
